My oh my...

Three boys. Three personalities. Three kinds of handsome:) I know that it is stressful for many of you to come to the session. I HOPE that you leave feeling great about it. That being said...I do know that you stress over the clothes...will they smile...how is their hair...etc. I am the SAME way when I shoot my own kiddos (which they hate by the way:)), but when it all comes down to it...none of that matters so much, just look at those faces! If you have been here...you know that I don't make them smile (although I know it kills some of you), unless they really are smiley. I just want them to be themselves and have fun...and hopefully they do!

I know you have been sooo patient!

I know this mom has been patiently waiting to make sure that the kiddos had a good session. Well, they did! I love the session and they look like little models. Where do you all get these gorgeous kids?!? Keep 'em coming:) We are all in big trouble in about 5-10 years.....

Don't Worry Mom!

Ok, mom, I know you are a little worried. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to ease your mind sooner...but we are ok! Your kids are total cuties and they did great. I will see you soon!

Cute kids everywhere

This post is just going to be some of my recent sessions. No real rhyme or reason:) But look how cute they all are! We are staying busy and having fun...
enjoy....

I've got some catchin' up to do...

I know there are sooo many of you that are looking for your sessions...have no fear, I will get to them. Things have been really busy around here, so I am having to pace myself:) I don't have too many tween sessions (tween (twēn)
n. A child between middle childhood and adolesence, usually between 8 and 12 years old.), but I love to do them. They are getting to the age where they have their own sense of style and who they are. I am learning soooo much about this since my daughter just turned 8. To say she has a mind of her own would be an understatement. Those of you that know her can back me up:) Anyway, this session was a lot of fun and we even did some "fashion" type shots. See you in a few days mom...

Mommy, son and baby to be...

I have really had lots of maternity and babies lately and I am not complaining:) It is so fun to have a variety. I love how simple this one is. He is going to be a good big brother...

Sooooo Sweeet!

I can't stand it...I will have to share more than one. This little girl was so cooperative. She let us bend her anyway we wanted. She is just precious....
Welcome to the world.

Little Miss ~S~

She was one of my first clients and I adore her. She has all kinds of personality and knows what she wants to do. She convinced me to pull out the white paper backdrop today, and I am so glad I did...I may have to do that more often:) She is a total cutie! Thanks for the fun session, Miss S...you truly are a doll!

Sometimes the best things can't be planned...

Sometimes it is just luck. I was trying sooo hard to get her to look at me, but she had her own ideas:) SHE really wanted ME to smell the fake flower! So...we killed two birds with one stone, I got her eyes, and she got me to smell the flower. Sis, has gorgeous eyes too....mom and dad might be in trouble:)

One for me:)

I loved this little guy. He didn't want to look at me a lot (and everyone knows that I love that eye contact), but I love this image. Don't worry mom...I do have some of his beautiful eyes too. But there is something I love about this one. Such a sweet spirit. So for now, just one.

And the Winner is...(sorry for the delay!)

Well, after weeding through many, many, many votes, we have a winner. The winning image for 2006 is "A". Thank you so much to everyone who participated, and let me say there were a lot of contenders! I am blessed to have such a wonderful group of clients and such gorgeous children to work with. You have all done a wonderful job with your kiddos! To a great 2007! Mrs. L, please give me a call to claim your prize...I can't wait to photograph that little guy again!

A baby boom

Looks like there will lots of very loved little bundles coming in to the world soon. I have had so many maternity sessions lately and I LOVE them. It is so different to have the clients actually hold a pose:) The mom's are always up for anything and it is fun to see the dad's squirm:) Most dad's are not so comfortable in front of the camera...but as you can see, the love for their children shines right through. I had a great time with this couple.

Two Girls and a Guy...

Can you even imagine what he is in for? I grew up with sisters...there were 3 of us. I cannot image how a brother would have survived:) In all seriousness, these kids got along great. They each brought their unique personalities, and we had a great time. It is always my hope, that everyone leaves feeling like the whole experience wasn't "quite" as bad as they expected:) I truly enjoyed this group....so mom, here is your sneak peek! I can't wait for you to see the rest.

My Winner!

Not for the current contest....but for the drawing I had at the Holiday Collectibles show. The winner won a free session. I had so many entries, and I finally had the session with my winner. She is one of those super cute little pregnant girls:) And such a sweetie too. I cannot wait to see that baby. She said I could post one and I am taking her up on it:) Best wishes for the next few weeks! Tell hubby he has less than 4 weeks before he is back in the studio:)

Some of my favorite things:)

Well, I am asked by almost every client....what should my child wear? I am torn here. I like the simple, but I also love adding in a little "funky". They are kids, they love color...and this should be fun. So, I wanted to share a few links to places that have some really cool and funky clothes. I know boys are a little bit harder. I have a 5 year old boy and I LOVE Wonderboy, which they have at Babes and Buckaroos (and you can see my display there too:))

Contest Time!

Click on the image to view larger.

Well, 2006 was a great year for me. Being fairly new to Austin, I had no idea how my little business idea would work, but I loved what I was doing so I went for it. You guys were wonderful:) I am so thankful for the wonderful people I met and the gorgeous children that I had the pleasure to work with. As a little thank you, we decided to do a contest.

Let me first say, wow...this was tough. I started trying to pick my favorites and ended up with waaaaaaaay to many to choose from. Although, not very scientific...I came up with a plan. I picked my favorite images from each session in 2006, put them all in a box and had my husband draw out 12. We couldn't really go wrong.
Now for the details:
The winner of the contest will receive:
*A Free Standard Session (for themselves)
*A Free Standard Session for a friend
*8X10 Fine Art Canvas
All prizes are valid through 2007.

How do you vote? Visit the Fancy Pants website (listed on the right hand side of the blog) or at http://www.fancypantsphotography.com, go to the contact page and send me an email (I will not use your information to contact you). In the comments section, type the letter associated with the image you would like to vote for. There is only one vote per email address please. So, go get your friends and family and tell them to get out and vote:)

UPDATE: 75% of votes for each contestant that come in directly (without coming through the contact page) will be counted toward the totals. This is to be fair to all contestants. Good luck everyone...all of your kids are just gorgeous, and you all have lots of friends if votes are an indication:) I will be digging through for weeks!

The contest lasts through January 31, 2007.

Such Innocence:)

I mean...can you get any sweeter? Such a doll...full of energy, don't get me wrong, but look at that face. I had a great time with her. She chose a lot of her own poses, and teddy was in most all of them:) Don't worry, Mom, this is the very first one in the batch, so I think we did just fine.

Two Days in a Row

See...I am trying to stay on top of things in the new year:) This is literally the first image I have looked at from this session, but what a personality! She was a doll, and I had a great time with her and her brother. This pose was all her own, and she looks adorable. Sometimes the kids have the best ideas!

Keep an eye on the blog. I am going to be randomly selecting a few images from 2006 to post for a photo contest. The winner will receive a free session. This will be coming soon:)

I'm Back!

Yes, I said I was going to do sooo many things over the break, and I did get some "behind the scenes" things done, but not as much updating as I would have liked. The good news is that we had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you all did too! This month will be hectic. Our move that was supposed to happen in December is now set for sometime this month. If you are scheduled this month, your email reminder will tell you where to come for your session. The 20% off canvas 16X16 and larger started this month and will continue through February. I am looking forward to all the new faces!
Here is a cutie from last month...until next time:)

Catching Up...

I have really fallen behind! I have photographed sooo many beautiful children and families this month, and I just haven't had time to post them here. I am finally winding down, and will not be doing any more sessions this year. I am going to take this time (aside from the normal Christmas craziness) to update my blog, my site, and launch my new senior site. Thanks to all of you for making this such a great year! Here is one of the recent beauties that I had the pleasure to photograph.

Christmas Cards....and envelopes

I wanted to give everyone a heads up. It looks like some of the cards that were delivered a month and a half to two months ago were the wrong size. My lab sent a few packages of envelopes that are 1/4 inch too small. Please check your envelopes before you stamp or address them to verify the size. If you have a package that is the wrong size, let me know and I will get them replaced as soon as possible. I am sooo sorry for this inconvenience!

Last Minute Shopping

I will be at The Eanes High School on Saturday from 9-5 selling double your money gift certificates. These are in denominations up to $200 value and can be used for print purchases. These are available one day only. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!

Great Session

I had sooo much fun doing this senior session. She was up for anything that I asked her to do...including laying down in the middle of a bridge and dodging all the bikers/joggers that came by. It was all worth it:) I had to come straight home and edit at least a couple of these right away. She is gorgeous, and if you saw Mom, you would know why.

Time for Tea

(Or orange soda in a tea kettle....works even better!) Just a quick post today to show off these little cuties. They didn't slow down much, but they were willing to sit down for a little soda:) They had the cutest setup (thanks, Mom). Until next time...have a great weekend!!!

Boys:)

Boys hold a special little place. My little boy is all about mom...which I don't mind at all. I love how they are cuddly and sweet...at least when they are little. Mine is on the edge between little guy and big boy. It is scary to see them grow up, it happens so fast. Makes me want to freeze time:)
Ok, now for the sneak peak, two darling little boys who loved bugs:) We played outside and found lots of rolypolies(I have no idea how that is spelled) I have some of them with the bugs, but here are a few in the studio.
***I am now completely booked through December, and January is filling up, please call or email for session availability. I apologize to anyone I could not accomodate, this is a crazy time of year.

The show went great and it was nice to see so many familiar faces. The drawing for the free session and 8X10 was drawn this morning (by my husband) and the lucky winner is....Tracy Armstrong. Thanks so all of you that signed up, I will be doing a few runner up specials for free 8x10s. I will contact you via email if you are a winner. If you missed the show, here is one of the booth:)

Awwww, a sleeping baby

They hardly ever sleep for me, but this one...I could move, curl up, wrap up, just about anything...and he stayed asleep. Such a doll!!!

On another note, Babes and Buckaroos is having an Open House for preferred customers (that is you!) on Thursday, November 3, from 6-9pm. There will be a jewelry trunk show and all of their yummy clothes. You will receive 10% off your purchases and shop while drinking champagne:) I will also have double your money gift certificates available up to a $200 value (you write me a check for $100, I give you a gift certificate for $200...can't beat that). If you miss it on Thursday, come see me on Friday ro Saturday at the Holiday Collectibles at Westlake Hills Church on Bee Cave Rd.

Babies!

I love to photograph babies. I love the big ones too, but babies....there is just something about them. I am posting a recent baby that I loved...do not worry mom, I have GORGEOUS ones of your boys too, but I am posting the littlest one.
Speaking of babies...Darla, I can't wait to see you tomorrow, and I heard through the grapevine that he is 7 days tomorrow!:)
I will forgive you for not calling me and telling me that he was two days early! If you are considering newborn shots...the earlier the better. Call me right after grandma:) Anyway, just one today.

Twins...

I love to photograph siblings, but especially twins. They really have their own little thing going. Getting a glimpse of such a neat relationship is always fun. Between the two of them, I bet they can give mom a run for her money:) I just started looking through this session, but I had to post one...truly gorgeous girls!

Don't forget to stop by Holiday Collectibles on Nov. 4-5 @ Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church. I will be offering "double your money" gift certificates up to a $200 value. You can also register to win a free session fee!

Ok, so sometimes we switch gears...

I tell you that I am laid back and I truly want you to feel that way when you come in. I don't want it to be stressful, but I know that it sometimes is:) When I photograph my own children, it is another story, and I am not nearly as easy going. I don't know why that is, but it is. The girls today were just darling!!! We had to switch gears a little because the baby was scared of the flash, but Mom...this is just a peek to let you know that it is all okay:)

Holy Smokes!

There are some gorgeous little girls out there. I am sure you all know, as many of you have them. Isn't it just amazing how quick they grow up and how SCARY it is. I know this, because I have one too. This post is just to show off a few of the girls I have had the opportunity to photograph lately. Lock'em up Moms:)

On another note, I am completely booked for Christmas sessions, but I am booking regular sessions for late November and the beginning of December. I apologize for anyone I was unable to accomodate, if you would like to be added to the wait list, just email me.

Singing in the Rain

We don't get much here, but if we do, she is ready. She had the cutest little props for our session. You all know that I love the close up serious shots, but I like a little fun in there too. I really encourage bringing things that play into your child's personality. We will get the close up, but they are only little once:)

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Ohhhhhh, I love newborns

This guy is only a week old. He was beautiful...I know handsome is what you are "supposed" to call little boys, but he is beautiful! I really had fun with this session...sleep alluded us, but that is ok. Mom...between you and me, I LOVE THIS SESSION! I am so excited for you to see. I am not showing an up close one, because I want to keep it a secret for your announcements, but I will just say...we have lots.

Mini sessions went great! I don't know how I managed to shoot over 100 images for each family in 30 minutes (that is normally what I shoot in an hour+)...but I did. Let's just say at the end of November, I am going to sleep for a few days:) Hope all is going well for everyone. Until next time...
